I had something similar and my dealer took the entire door apart and then insulated it while putting it back together and that stopped it. This was after replacing the speaker 3 times....

I have 3rd row too, and I have the rattling coming from second row seat since day one, after at least three dealer visits, they replaced the left side rear seat frame, so far it's good, we will see how it holds up

Annoying “squeak” between the instrument display and the plastic surround.
Removed the screw (arrow) holding the surround in place to create a gap and stuffed some soft foam in there.

Our Defender has a very annoying rattle coming from the passenger door card - but only when I put my arm on the armrest. I haven't tried to mess with it - I still have PTSD from breaking plastic retainer clips off when working on my Toyotas and Isuzus.

My idea was to pop off the top of the arm rest and either use some Tesa tape on the inside where it looks like panels could be contacting each other, or just stuffing and voids with foam.

Anyone have any ideas where to look what sounds like a lose screw or marble somewhere in the rear of my 110 P400?
I have looked under the rear seats, removed the contents from the Styrofoam and removed it altogether to try and find the offending object that is taunting me going around every corner.

Is it something that only occurs over broken pavement? If so, it could be one of the rear shock tower bolts, as they can be come loose over time, especially with heavy off-road use. They are easily accessible once the Styrofoam is removed, and you can easily tighten them up from there.

If that is indeed the problem, you'll also want to make sure the shock isn't damaged.

After 2 years and numerous complaints to the dealer that went unsolved, I finally fixed the absolutely irritating "rain stick" noise that others have mentioned. It would drive me insane when it really got going on the highway lasting up to 30 mins!

Unfortunately I swore the issue was around the parking brake switch as I could push on the leather beside it to stop the noise. Sometimes I would drive just pressing the panel to help my sanity. But after taking the plunge and removing piece by piece of the dash it all came down to this one screw!

Foam tape on the inside, a thick rubber washer and a just barely snug screw. Over tighten and it still did it.

Thank goodness this is over with! Just wish I would have identified the actual source sooner as this thread would have then been a great help.

I have a crazy vibration/rattle that is coming from far back driver side/ 3rd row area, upper area like where the sun window is. Only at low speeds, or breaking/accelerating below 20mph. very loud

I am about to lose my sanity.
Removed everything from the rear, removed the Styrofoam insert, folded the rear seats flat and went for a drive to determine the area of this illusive rattle. That sound of something rolling (to left or right) or banging when going around a corner, left or right. Rattle is still there, so not anything to do with the tools in the back or whatever is mounted in the back on the floor
Even unscrewed the rear door plastics on the inside and removed to see if there is anything loose in the door. Nothing.
Unscrewed the Styrofoam section under the rear seats to poke through the holes. Just the white cotton like soundproofing material & still nothing loose rolling around.
Checked under the car at rear. Nothing. Checked the roof rack & nothing. Checked side ladder. Not that either.
