I made a few cosmetic changes... Added sports pedals and swapped out the footwell lights and under door welcome lights with red LEDs since I don't have the premium ambient lighting.

I have the premium ambient lighting that I have set to red but the lights in the footwell are white. I might do this it looks really good!

Today I decided to relocate the trailer 7 pin tow harness. The standard location is a real pain to get to if you are hooking up trailers a lot. You basically have to get on the ground to do it. So I moved it to the back bumper to the right of the license plate. It does ruin the aesthetic a little but it is so much easier to get too. And I didn't even have to take the bumper off and was able to reuse all the same parts. I also moved my anderson plug to the same location.

Old location with 7 pin removed.

New location.

The second thing I did to the defender today is add a rear drawer and my tilting fridge slide. Awhile back I removed the third row of seats and put a second battery system with DC2DC charger and AUXbeam switch controller. This removed my storage back there for the jack. So I found this drawer kit from Travall in the UK. I looked really hard here in the US but no one seems to be making anything right now except for front runner but there drawer kit is pretty small and has a very large gap between the door and the drawer. Air Down Gear Up wants to make one and are located not to far from me, but when I approached them they wanted a pretty hefty development fee, which I wasn't willing to pay, on top of the normal kit price.

That's a great looking fridge and tray setup. I'm super jealous. Nice work on the wiring harness. Such a better location for it. I think it looks just fine there. Love the red tow loops, winter wrap and PUK reverse lights. I'm waiting on them to be back in stock. Much needed.

Went for a little lo-range spin today.

What does everyone use for Bike Racks on their rig? I have a Yakima 4 bike that I used on my old 4Runner (hitch mounted) but it doesn't clear the rear tire, and I have little trust for the Harbor Freight Hitch Extender...2 adults and 2 kid bikes...

We have a Kuat with their Hi-Lo Pro extender. Works nicely. 1Up works great too.

Agree - we use a 1Up extender. It's stable and clears the wheel with room to spare.

I didn't think I needed a storage system like that until I saw the Travall product... what a great system, and so easy to install! I'm definitely going to order.

How long did it take for them to ship to you in CO?

Thanks for sharing!

It was super easy to install, 15 minutes. Couple of caveats though.
  1. I had the third row of seats that I previously removed and so I had to make a new floor. I removed that floor to fit the Travall. The Travall product is meant for the 5 seater where you remove the floor and the drawers sit on the ledge on the sides where the floor use to sit. So to fit in the 7 seater you need to make a new ledge or buy new trim pieces that have the ledge already there. In my case I installed some angle aluminum.
  2. The driver side wing piece isn't meant to installed in a defender that has the rear cooling unit. That was easy to fix though as I just used what they sent as a template and cut a new piece of wood to match my cars profile, added some vehicle carpet I had lying around, and then reused the bracket that went with the factory piece. Worked out really well.
Shipping from the UK was very expensive, about 50% of the cost of the actual product. It came via FEDEX freight and took about a week. Make sure they don't charge you VAT. The listed price includes VAT. It came on a pallet. Even with the shipping it was little less to 2/3rd the cost of an air down gear up (ADGU) setup depending on if you hit a sale or not and this assumes they even have something for the Defender (they currently do not). It doesn't quite have all the features you get with ADGU but for the price and needing something now it will work fine. I would have preferred two drawers side by side.
