Yesterday my friend and I installed the OEM hitch receiver. Waited almost eight months for it to arrive. The installation process was very straightforward, but made a million times easier if you have a lift and a friend to help out. The process took just about two hours to complete. The only thing left to do is to get it programmed at the dealer. On a side note, there are two different part numbers for the towing module depending on model year.
the one on the driver side holds two pairs of safety glasses and heavy duty gloves inherited from the Jeep bag, the one on the passenger side holds Jetboil Sumo (you can see it sticking out). I just put them on today, looked at them and thought that I'd probably move them lower. And, two more pairs of these are on the way - they're dirt cheap, and, as you can see, pretty universal - they hold bigger gloves, and those window cleaners that are otherwise more or less homeless and bounce around on the trail. They take about 4 MOLLE cells horizontal, and about 6 cells vertical. The only drawback is that there is no velcro on the front surface so I can't put stickers indicating what's inside, but there are rings so some sort of tags would probably do the job of explaining that.
hall of shame, going back to Amazon - I bought it because it advertised a 5" diameter (which was supposed to be enough for Jetboil) but, as it turned out, buried deeply in the comments were observations that it was rather 4.5" - caveat emptor.
More later. In particular, I think I'll manufacture a big MOLLE panel and put it onto the garage wall, to flip loadouts - different trips require different things.
Early on we started to craving faster internet and installed the Starlink with the MODL straps to the track boards. Worked great even on washboard roads.
I also have one of these Element fire extinguishers, however, it is currently bouncing around in the driver's door pocket. Reason being, if I want to use it, that'll be in a hurry, and the rear door may be blocked, and it'll take more time to get to it, and it may be dangerous, especially if you catch an engine fire on a highway like one of forum members did couple of years ago - you don't want to be swept by passing traffic while running to the hood.
They're not terribly expensive so the idea was to get the second one for the tailgate door soon since I blew my budget last month... and it's already $5 more than the first so I just bought it lest it goes even higher, and it's in the mail It'll go to the other side and probably on the bottom, though, for there are somewhat vertically challenged people in our crew.
Element comes with the mounting bracket that seems to fit nicely into two adjacent small holes, did you decide to mount yours on the straps for consistency sake, or their bracket didn't hold it well enough? Another option, to hold it in a Quick Fist, but that's more bulky.
