That's great. Can you take a pic or two from way back so we see what it looks like in the car? I don't know if I've seen that big screen in a Defender (?). It's the one from the full fat Range Rover, is that right?
it's chinese version, not really OEM. You can update firmware too on it from what I've seen. I think multitouch and/or some map panning doesn't work correctly on these...
@nashvegas as requested. I don’t think it looks out of place-it’s just a little bit larger than the 11.4 screen @TeddyG you are correct it’s not OEM it is Chinese but it is physically and operationally identical. No issues with either Pivi or Apple CarPlay maps. 13.3 inch 13.3 inch Apple map Pivi map
Wow!! Very good job @ThunderBob ! I don't think I'll be doing that soon, but I LOVE that you went thru it. This is the reason I love this forum. Innovation & experimentation at its finest.
Added the GP Factor Maxtrax Spare Tire Mounting Kit with a set of Maxtrax Xtreme in stealth black and an Agency 6 shovel that I mounted to my Hi-Lift Jack.
The GP Factor mount is very solid, made from stainless steel, and easy to set up, I did add a lock to them to help prevent theft.
Changed out the seat covers from the black carpathian seats - with center console/dashtrim pieces. Boughtfrom SeatSurgeons in the UK and had them fitted locally (had some tweaking to do in the rear cup holder portion.
Installed the auxiliary switch panel from Powerful UK along with a Mag Safe charger since the wireless charger in the Defender is so finicky. Planning on adding some toggle switches to it for some exterior lighting later.
super easy to install and a very tight fit -although it looks like it will probably rub two marks into the rubberized piece under the gear selector
