I have my 2021 HSE order with the offroad pack, towing pack and plan to take it places - pangea green. I am thinking a way to do it will be matt wrap the gloss bottom to protect. I have seen the gloss arches but can only imagine how annoyed I'll be as they start showing small scratches. Has anyone any suggestions on the matt wrapping? I may satin wrap the whole car with OEM protection if possible or after market if teh OEM material is not available.

Same! Maybe some matte wrapping on the lower section. Knock down the gloss to match the wheel arches and offer paint protection.

They ended up being possibly the worst tyres I’ve ever fitted to a Defender! 🤦‍♂️ Just on one trip off road I wrecked two of them as the sidewalls were so thin, even aired down slightly they were scrap. I’ve fitted BFG KO2’s 275/55 R20 now and they’re as good as they’ve always been (sidewalls are also twice as thick!

Default Thanks!

So when I bought my defender it was one of the lower end models. That had more to do with availability and my thought that I can upgrade certain things in the vehicle overtime which I’ve been doing. It looks like you’ve done some upgrading yourself. Would you mind sharing with me some of the things you did? Good call on the tires. Those were on my list. Thanks Adam Green

Default One last wheel arch question

I have a 2021 and the existing wheel arches have a running light in them. What happens with that as it relates to replacing with the new wheel arches?

@AdamG - US spec extended wheel arches have the side lights and EU spec extended wheel arches don't. Make sure you get the version you're after. Most places I see them side by side, they're practically the same cost.

@Ludders54 - Can you put more details on the roof rack expedition box frame you made? Or where you scored them from? Thanks.

I fabricated it myself (and trust me I’m not an expert in it at all) it was just some angle iron from B&Q, corner brackets and flat metal work pop riveted to the base. Then used these from Amazon to fix to the Explorer roof rack ………Links below……

Awesome, Thanks!! I'm in Texas, USA. I see your Amazon link is UK. Is B&Q your version of a hardware/lumber type store? I'm thinking it's a version of our Lowes (lowes.com) or Home Depot (homedepot.com).
