do you need land rover tpms or will the local firestone tore shop be able to program the wheel for you?

Several people on here have posted that this is the size recommended by JLR for snow tires in the Defender manual. Living in a place that gets a light snow every five years, I've not bothered to search for it.

Much better snow tire selection in 275/55 than 255/60. I wound up getting the 275 with Conti Vikings 7s. Negative for wider width is it will float over rather than cut through snow. Positive for wider width is better ice traction. The width difference is only 8%, so tire availability in each size likely is much more important.
