WI-FI Enabled With Data Plan Expiring
What really gooses my gander is that if I don't submit and pay $500 my Incontrol app goes away.
No more remote starting, trip stats, door lock/unlock, etc. Well, the app is not that functional, could be much more so, but I've become dependent on remote starting for both cold and hot weather and to sit out the high start-up revs.
Had my 110SE almost 3-years and so far no issues, pretty much perfect and a great drive, but I find this is akin to extortion. $500?? How could this be worth $500 a year?

Took delivery of my 110X in Dec 28th of 22'. My inControl app on my phone shows my subscription for Wi-Fi Enabled with Data Plan expired on Dec 28,2022. Two years and four months in and I still have active Wi-Fi hotspot in my Defender... No emails from JLR yet.
The consensus at Greensboro JLR is this is a scam. If you do receive this email, probably shouldn't pay.
However, they also told me Incontrol is free while my truck is under warranty: five years. Then is around $65 per year. Must admit, I was not aware of this either.

I am confused now. Is the WiFi Enabled Data Plan required in order for the In Connect App to work? I am placing my order tomorrow and wasn't planning on adding the WiFi enabled Data Plan but definitely want to have the features of In Connect App.
If your email came from lradvice@landroverincontrolshop.com, it's likely a scam.
