Default Winch wiring

I am adding a demountable winch to the rear running 1/0 gauge to quick connect, , will have disconnect and fusible link at battery end. Question exactly where is the best place to make the battery connection, not so obvious to me. Some suggest you could just run the positive to the rear and connect negative to frame at rear? Any thoughts appreciated

Yes, you can run the positve directly to the battery or to a 2nd battery mounted in the trunk area. the negative can go to a chassis ground. We typically run a 2nd short ground strap from the negative battery to the chassis.

You do not want to connect the positive to the vehicle power supply wiring at the rear of the vehicle.
