I haven't made it that far with one yet, but I had 8 filled chips before one finally cracked. So I could only imagine what it would look like at 34k...

 

We got a large rock chip a few months back.....of course directly in the line of sight. Because we have the heated windshield, you cannot fix the chip (you can only replace).

JLR had the windshield backordered for a while....I happened to be in the local dealer getting new wipers last week and they said they had them back in stock! Long story short...I called the insurance company, they cover it 100% here in MA. The glass repair place goes to our LR dealer on Thursday to replace and then the dealer will recalibrate the car.

I've had a few windshields replaced over the years (never with a LR), hoping this is the last time with the defender. The last time was on my Wrangler Unlimited which was done right in my garage at home and super easy.

 

I've been waiting since end of Sept for my replacement windshield. I was told they had one, scheduled the appt to get it installed, then they cancelled saying the new one arrived cracked.

 

That stinks, sorry. I would call the parts department directly, that’s where I found they had it back in stock. The last time I spoke to the glass place they were waiting for 17 windshields so I just lived with it for a while.
