wireless remote switch for lightbar needed.
Those are all cool/full featured systems, but I do like having a simple always on/always responsive bank of hardware switches instead of having to fire up an app on my phone and hope for a quick sync/connection. Sometimes you just wanna get rolling and flip some switches quickly, there is a benefit to that!
If you're looking for one light to control, a simple RF remote in the glovebox could work. You hookup the remote to a separate relay (not the remote receiver itself, which may not have the amperage rating for a LED lightbar) which powers the light. The downside of these little things is that if the receivers are wired to the battery and not ignition, they do draw amperage even while the car is off. You could use a voltage sensitive relay to turn it off while the BSG (alternator) isn't spinning but I don't know if I'd trust that in our electrical setup, especially if you're running a P400. I had one on my H1's train horn so I could blast my horn at people who were trespassing on my private road as they drove by - hopefully giving them a heart attack - but I took it off after my Antigravity battery monitors showed what a drain they were on the battery bank.
Looking at my amazon search results, looks like there are now multi-channel options for that setup these days.
The reason why I recommended those other switching products is because it handles all of the wiring for you. Its all integrated, all you have to do is connect the lightbar's positive wire to the switch module, the ground to a common ground and you're off running. I know its not rocket surgery to DIY it but its also a nice thing to have that simplicity. Also, the app based approach isn't nearly as inconvenient as you think - when I'm offroad, I have OnX or GaiaGPS on half my infotainment screen, and the Dswitch app in the other half. Easy peasy.
I don't want to offend anyone who has the switch panels on their dash - I've got a DIY switch panel in my offroad truck - but its also 23 years old and the whole aesthetic with the hardware contura flippy switches vibes in that rig, whereas the Defender interior is far too modern and refined for something like that. It just isn't something that I'd be willing to abide in my Defender personally. But I'm not one to judge - your rig your rules
