Default Yakima RTL600

Has anyone successfully installed the Yakima RTL600 quick release roof racks to their defenders with the factory installed roof rails? Im looking for a rack I can remove quickly by myself to ensure height levels at carparks when Im not carrying surfboards on the roof.

Cheers

How are those roof bars quick release. They look to be the standard type roof bars that bolt down. The same type as the oem Land Rover ones or that standard knock off ones you can buy on Amazon/eBay.

Take the cover off - squeeze the tabs and they pop off - used them on a ford ranger and they were excellent

You mean like this?

I had to fabricate my own plynths and clamps to make it work. The front and rear plynths are tapered to get all three bars on the same plane. The clamps under each tower are one-peice with two threaded screw holes to match the footprint of the tower base. You will definitely want an air dam with this setup because it can really howl. Here’s mine.

Hope this helps.
