Day 2 finishes, the trip from the peak to camp site was pretty tame, other than one creek crossing that actually had my traction control engage on the uphill out of the creek. You really feel it grab when you are in low range, we camped at a place called Davie's creek.

Once in camp we investigated our 2 problem trucks, the 110 with the power steering leak, was also seal leak it was determined to leave it be and just top it up as required mostly when it start to squeal a bit. The Disco 1 with the cooling issue seemed to be fine, fan and coolant level were both fine. he had no AC or AC fan both were non-functional.

This on hold for a few days until ACG get's his Disco sorted out, we need to get him back in High range, hopefully it is just gimped cable. At 5:40 pm PST he is just entering Whitehorse after leaving Skagway at 10:30 this am.

I am assisting remotely which is interesting

 

Day 3 it was cold overnight really cold. Frost on the ground in the night and ice in my water bottle and on top of my bucket of water at 7:00am. O'Doul the dog felt that my bucket awas a handy drinking location, only 20 -30 feet from home.
It was warm enough for a long sleeved shirt but nothing, was required. After a good breakfast and my daily Disco check, the group was ready to roll at 9:00. We headed off to get to Poison Mtn , day 2 was actually China Head peak, fewer pictures today.

Interesting landscape in this picture. Some of the smaller mountains/hills almost look as though they've had volcanic activities (tops opened up), and surrounding rock fields look like debris from their explosions.



Good tires would be a necessity here, for sure. Can't imagine going through some of these places, you're one lucky guy.

@The Deputy Brian, there are alot of hot springs and some volcano fields although they are largely south and east of Whistler BC, I would not be surprised if some of those peak are ancient volcanoes. But you find lots of volcanic rock around. Lots of granite and Basalt rock on the trails, cheap tires do not last long.
