Default San Bernardino NF Multi-day Trip

I’m planning on a multi-day adventure around the San Bernardino mountains. The dates and duration are flexible as I consider this area my backyard. Easy to get to and easy to get back home at any point and time.

Sugarpine Mountain Trail: Sugarpine Mountain Trail - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia
Pilot Truck Trail: Pilot Rock Truck Trail - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia
Pinnacles Loop Trail: San Bernardino National Forest - Pinnacles Trail 3W16

From here, the choice of trails is open. From White Mountain to John Bull to Gold Mountain then Holcomb Creek and Lower Larga are some of my favorites or we can simply trace easy trails along Crab Flats and Big Pine to get to Yucca Valley by Rose Mine or TipTop mountain, on as little pavement as possible.

Depending on the size of the group and the capabilities of each truck and equipment, we can all vote on trails from easy, moderate to challenging. As for choice of camp, I'm thinking of checking out Yellow Post sites (all are free but only a few will have conveniences – so plan to be self-sustained), for a real Outlanding experience. I find it best to add/delete to my “Rig List” while on practice.

For ideas on what to bring…Offroad Checklist for the Off Road Trip

Please post on here if interested and if you have any suggestions so we can work out the details.

Cheers!

As usual, it sounds awesome!!!!!

My question is in regard to the possible dates of attendees. September would be my interest.

Last time I was at Pilot Rock, I flopped my 4runner on it's side, going down a hill I should not have and making a silly rookie mistake. I might be interested in this outing, but I plan on taking it easy, until I learn more off roading skills.

September is too far down the road. I don't think I can hold off my excitement that long. We should be doing desert runs by then as the mountains cool off.

We will try to stay right side up this time around by watching each other...

Default Potential Dates? July 11-13

Looking at Accuweather site, the weekend of 11-13 July is the most comfortable at mid 70s during the day and mid-50s at night. Any takers?

Default Tech Day Instead

I didn't hear from anybody about playing so a buddy and I decided to make it a maintenance day instead. Replaced engine mounts and transferred lights between trucks on mine and replaced OEM trailing arms with TerraFirma units on my buddy. Turned out to be a productive weekend after all.

Now it's time to test the repairs. Let me know if anybody got any dates in mind.

Cheers!
