Solaros Trail Ride, 7-19-25 North Georgia
Saturday Trail ride plan for 7/19/2025 - slight change to initial idea. We will meet at the McDonalds in Ellijay right off 515 at 8:30 AM with a prompt 9:00 AM departure time. We will be following the track of the Georgia BDRX east towards Nimblewill Gap Rd and Winding Stair Gap Road and then follow the BDRX route to Suches, GA. You can download the whole BDRX route here for free:

BDRX routes are something relatively new from the creators of the BDR routes that are typically a south to north route through an entire state or collection of states. They have added some loops in states like Georgia and Pennsylvania for multi day rides with a local flavor. Many of the roads on this route are familiar to us and it will be fun to string them together in an organized ride. They are mostly gravel Forest Service roads and less traveled paved roads through scenic sections of the states. The only road on this route that might be a bit challenging is the stretch of Nimblewill Gap Road up to the crest where the Appalachian Trail crosses the road above Amicalola Falls Park. There were a few washouts in the road when we did it this past winter but none of them were anything to worry about.
See Ya'll on the trail!
