[QUOTE=gmfain;931649]He has been my Rover mechanic for over 20 years, he told me to never power wash my engine bay.
I'm curious the rationale to never clean an engine. I like having mine clean because it keeps me cleaner when I do have to work on it also helps keep dirt/debris out of internals when parts are removed. For example the turbo intake tube below. I'm sure the mechanic cleaned it out but having a cleaner engine might have avoided the necessity to remove the dirt.

I honestly don't remember his exact reasoning. I just always do what he says. I trust him completely.
LOL, I have a nightmare of pressure washing it, Shorting the ECU, and him saying, " I told you not to" LOL
Now I do pressure wash the mud from fender wells, underneath, radiator and intercooler.........
The whole throttle body assembly was replaced by Bear Valley a couple years ago and then the dealer replaced the DPF under the federal warranty last year. The intake was pretty darn clean when I changed the oil last month.

I'm pretty sure mine had never been cleaned.
I cleaned and adjusted the butterfly flap to prevent it sticking.
I will post up my next cleaning at oil change time.
Great pics! Looks like a lot of fun. I'll make it again one day 😎
We had a good ride. Rain the day before kept the dust down. We are pre planning Talladega National forest ride for 8-23, its quiet a haul, but worth it. @Chucktastic Has done Talladega with us in his D5, its one of my favorite trails.
