Closing Moab?
Just saw this posted on another OHV forum I look at...

Seems like there is a land use bill, well on it's way through congress, that will shut down 9M acres of BLM land in Utah. Most of Moab is on the map to have access removed.

Definitely worth reading up on:

H.R.1925 - America's Red Rock Wilderness Act of 2009
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h1925/show

Have any of you heard anything about this?

they are all completely out of touch with society and the working class in america

Out of the 146 co-sponsors only 5 are Republican and 1 is an Independent. I can't believe that they would do this to 9MM acres.

Who is fighting this? Where is the petition for us to sign?

I am a member of the AMA and always give money to the OHV in Iowa but I wouldn't know where to start with this.

Any info would be nice and we should all try to fight this...

Forget what I just said - AMA just sent me an email asking me to send a letter.

Below is a link that you can type your zip code into and then your info and it will automatically send a email to your congressman in your district that you can personalize.

http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/...idresponse.asp

I urge you to do this.

At this point it dosen't have any support from the federal congressman from UT so I doubt that it will pass but we should still take action, especially is you ever want to go wheeling or ride motorcycles there someday.

Thanks Mike for bringing this to our attention as this is the only LR or offroad forum I am a member of.
