Question D1 audio upgrade, a might stumped

Hello, as you might know from my previous thread, My Brother (electrical engineer for Lockheed Martin) and I where in the midst of upgrading my music enjoying experience. In doing so, we ran into trouble with the Amp connecting with the RCA cables, if you touch the white plug to the outside of RCA ring it works fine and dandy, but when you plug it in to the RCA port it drops the power output to 1/4 of what it should be. Any ideas? Sorry if I have misspelled words or run on sentences...

Thanks

Collin

I will take a look at that in the AM, hopefully I can wire the amp up before school tomorrow (with out doing something stupid), oh one more thing, while hooking up the amp/sub i ran across a solenoid. It trigures when you hit the brake, i thinks its red. I'll snap a couple pics and throw them up tomrrow morning.

Thanks for the help!

from Rave electrical troubleshooting guide:

When the gear selector is in the park position, the
solenoid inside the Transmission Range Selector
Switch (Z110) is de–energised and prevents the
selector from being moved into another gear. To free
the selector, the Ignition Switch (X134) must be in
position II and the brake pedal must be depressed.
When this occurs, voltage from Fuse F1 is applied to
the Transmission Range Selector through the closed
Stop Lamp Switch (X168). The solenoid inside the
Transmission Range Selector Switch is grounded at
E201 through the selector switch, the KS wire and
the B wire. The solenoid now energises, freeing the
selector

Are you using the Metra harness to hook up the new deck by any chance? Curious to see if this will be an issue with me also.

I'm kinda making my own wiring harness... I have my remote wire going to my driver speaker. I grounded the negative cable to driver seat, and the amp is located under my seat.

Thanks SB, a I'll take a look tomorrow
