Default Electrical Noise

Replaced factory radio with aftermarket. Now I have a whine as the pedal is depressed. For the most part it's low enough that when using my Ipod if I turn it up it is masked but the radio picks it up even more so.

Suggested fixes?

The car stereo shops sell a filter that wires into the positive wire going into the stereo. Make sure your ground is good. That is a alternator whine.

yes... replace the suppressor attached to the alternator.

usually a 1 or 1.5 microfarad unit will sort the whine out. very cheap!!!

check also other noise generating equipment, motors especially, eg...screen wiper motors, etc...
& don't forget to check the condition of the earthing braid between chassis &bonnet.
