Default Wanting great sound without a box of speakers

Ive got a 02 discovery that I have replaced the stereo deck with a average cd deck. Removed the oem amp and wired all speakers straight to the deck but Im still lacking a descent sound. Ive got plenty of treble but no bass. i dont want to put in a box of woofers with amp and all. Does anyone have suggestions? Just want a good quality sound.

Just a photo. I would say that if you plan to modify interior trim, you might want to swing by the boneyard and get ones to practice on.
