My 1997 Disco 1 a/c did not work (263,000 miles)...because I needed a new compressor (rockauto.com $189.00, then I wanted to replace the dryer ( rockauto.com $12.00) then the condenser leaked... ebay $150.00...and last the pipe from the condenser to the BTR4041 hose ( connecting the compressor to the condenser threads were gauled and would not tighten on the condenser...I went to the Dealer..part not availiable...so I went to my local truck part store and extended the BTR4041 a/c hose ( available at Atlantic British) for $250.00.
Observing the the connector from the compressor was the same as the connection to the condenser...I had the local truck store splice the BTR4041 hose and extended it 2.5',($30.00)...now I connected the compressor to the condenser directly. A small problem the new hose (American spec was thicker than the English hose) so I got some epoxy from Harbor Freight for $1.98 and sealed the new connectors...I works perfectly.
