Today I'm just cleaning the carpets again with some proper cleaner. So nothing really big planned for the next day or two.
I got a package I have been looking forward to today from the gent's at Lucky8. My Proud Rhino switch panel to replace the broken ashtray in the center stack. It is prewired and basically plug and play. Comes set up with 3 carling switches, twin usb ports, digital volt gauge and a 12v power port. The gray powder coat looks to be a great match for the center stack color and the Rhino logo is a cool touch.
Can't wait to be at the point where I can install this.
The carpets are nearly dry. Waiting on a few things to show up so we can start the upgrade wiring. Wiring harnesses for the lights and the Ham Radio antenna lead etc. Also working out what we are going to recover all the pillars with as the fabric was nasty and moldy. Also cannot get the headliner quote until monday. So tomorrow just a little clean up and treating the little surface rust we found.
This one is a 7 seat HSE. Would you guys pull the seats to utilize the under floor storage or keep them since I intend to delete the middle seat of the middle row.
A friend of mine once bought a 98 if I'm not mistaken Orvis Edition Grand Cherokee that was in great shape minus the carpet. It was tan, but the ac drain had clogged and it went onto the carpets. Then it sat in the sun at the LR Dealership as a trade in waiting for auction for a month. My friend got it really really cheap, and we tore it out. Sadly even after all the cleaning in the world the stains would not come out (green/black blobs) so the detail guy suggested spray painting the carpet. The guy said they do it to boats all the time due to mildew. My friend let the guy take it home and spray paint it. It came back looking amazing!!!! My friend flipped that sucker for a tidy profit and we were totally shocked at the before/after.
I drove my 95 D1 today and it wouldn't rev over 3k and it was shifting awful due to no RPM's. Limped home, swapped out the ignition amplifier and then it wouldn't run at all lol. Dunno what that was from, but eventually after double checking the connections it came to life. I then saw what looked like tiny white specs falling out of the tailpipe. I let it rev up to 4k for a second and tons of it blew out and then I heard an awful clank. Apparently the drivers side cat has broken free and when I was driving it earlier today it was blocking my exhaust!!
I'm going to look into either straight piping it as I just have 2 O2 sensors before the cats so I could get away with it, or have a nice new unit welded in and while he's fixing that I'll have him redo the Y pipe as the aftermarket cats have awful angles and I'm sure awful flow.
shallow mounting depth should allow for it to be mounted under the factory location for the ash tray. It also covers the grms frequency's as well so I can use it either way on the trail
