Thanks Walt! I did have a strange "bog down" under hard acceleration when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, It seems to be better after reconnecting this line, hopefully that was the issue

I've been working on my other truck for the past month but it's time to get ready for WHEELING SEASON!!!

Rear wheel wells were the last of the rust repair & under body painting

Both were in surprisingly good condition, just the factory undercoat peeling and minor surface rust

Knocked down and treated with two coats of Miracle paint

Painting upside down is a real PITA

The sun tends to wash out my pics in the afternoon

Finally, all 4 wheel wells blacked out, now begins two weeks of prep for the Fall Rally!

Do you run those 285's with just the 2" lift and spacers?

Vehicle looks great.

Yes sir - although with some pretty significant trimming on the bodywork

The PO installed the tires and lift, if I were building it from scratch I would go with either a 3" lift or run skinnier tires and no spacers.

The following updates are all from the past two weeks getting ready for the Florida Land Rover Club Fall Rally

Bought a pair of 12v LED lghts on eBay for $16 and wired one to the reverse lead in the back

Had to enlarge / drill a couple small holes to run the wire

Pretty clean

I was super pleased with the ease of install and brightness

Re-wired my CB radio straight to the battery and used 3 snap on ferrite cores to combat some feedback / static

I also added a "Non Ground Plane" Antenna from Firestik since I was not getting good reception on the one I had installed previously.

Ran the coax cable using the same method as the reverse light, reception & transmitting are good now

Then it was time to add some storage, my first step in building out the cargo area

Threw together a simple overhead shelf, mainly for soft goods, tents, etc.

Sealed with Marine Spar Varnish and added a simple battery light (sneak peek of the wood floor, this one ended up becoming the template)

Came out nice, it does not block the rear view mirror, or hit rear seat passengers in the head!

I may do a version 2.0 when I finish the floor but was rushing to get this done for the rally

Florida,
You just use a paintbrush roller for the wheel wells?

2 coats rust encapsulator

2 coats Rustoleum gloss black, the mud comes right off!
