Scored a hitch basket for firewood on Craigslist for $50

And with most of the maintenance up to date I could finally focus on the cosmetic stuff

Removed the old sticker with a 3M wheel, new one costs $8 from Rover's North

Also replaced the worn CDL sticker, it's the little things!

My driver's seat sling started sagging again (I used cheap duct tape the first time)

Luckily I still had a sling from the parts truck so I wrapped & installed that and re-wrapped my original for a spare

Ready for the Rally, the next update will be epic!

Friday morning on November 10th, getting ready to leave for the FLRC Fall Rally!!

My dad was driving the silver truck, we picked up a buddy on the way out

Pulling into camp

Silver truck was parked for the weekend, too clean for these trails

We have a lot of diversity in the club

How'd I get dirty already?

With Daylight savings upon us the first trail was run in the dark

P38 on 35's almost made it through the hole

I thought the ride side looked a little firmer... it wasn't

Getting yanked out by the 110, tough to take pics in the dark!

Looks like a great time. Left side looked firmer to me...lol. But, in all seriousness...I'd have gone left just because I don't like being on the low side of the vehicle when I get stuck. Especially, if she flops over. Me, I want the high and dry side if at all possible...plus, this 57 year old body ain't climbing out the passengers side...even on my best day...lol.

Must be nice to have some dedicated LR fans around. After posting a post here about starting up a LR group...all I heard was crickets...and from two guys looking to sell their rigs.

Anyhow...

Keep the pictures coming, enjoying them immensely. Your Discovery looks great!

Brian.

Agreed 100%, I'll admit I was a little overexcited to get her dirty! Also booze played a role..

It's amazing how much you can learn from a weekend of driving off road

So after our first night ride, another group of well equipped rigs went out to run "Cabbage Patch"

A Jeep CJ7 on 37's lost a valve stem so they had to leave his rig on the trail overnight, this was the rescue mission the next morning after retrieving the jeep and turning around, running Cabbage Patch in reverse

Here are the highlights;

2:32 Defender stuck
4:25 Defender out
7:11 Send it
9:36 Stall

Pic of me stuck in the jungle on the way out, feet got wet here

Nice video. If you 45° your recovery points...you will get a lot less clanking.

Made all the difference in the world on mine.

Truck looks mean!!

That clanking is actually my CB antenna banging into my Hi-lift mount, I just need to move it over a few inches

Damn I love this thread. Great pics. I recognize that Clearwater blue Classic. I almost bought it. It was out here in Washington I think. then a guy from D Source brought it to FL. Small world.
