So been a long *** winter, havent really needed to mess with the black d1 but as much as i didnt want to lift her, my brother was in a u pull in virginia a few weeks back and came across a d1 that apeared to have a almost brand new terrafirma lift so he grabbed it
Medium springs
3 shocks
Hd steering bars
Steering damper
Front hd shock hoops
All for the low low price of $133 lol and stuff looks brand new, one rear shock he couldnt access the bottom bolt so called lucky 8 and ordered one up came in like 2 days
So we are under $200 into what looks like a new lift on my $300 d1 lol
So this weekend i decided to put the teenager to work and talk him through the lift , he did well
I did decide to check the swivel drag and the pass side had no resistance, popped the abs sensor and it was trashed, popped the swivel and it was damged and the bearing was non eqsistant, lucky for me i had an old swivel and knuckle assembly lying around so that got fixed and topped off the swivel grease with some 00
Now u did measure before and then after with same tires and we seem to have gained about 3 1/4" then we swapped the tires on from the camel,
we did leave sway bars on for now but now i remember why we took em off the camel
initial drive , rides very firm, no sway on corners so this will definitely take getting used to
