The official TRIARII build
Well as mentioned in another thread I did not meet my budget for April 2015 so the truck will stay behind, be it in the care of a trusted mechanic. Im already working at the fishery in Alaska and my plans for the truck over the next couple months are as follows.
1: Diagnose the condition of the engine. Its got 152,000 and an engine tick that I want to clear up. If its just the lifters or something minor than I will have the engine partially rebuilt. If the liners are bad than I will have to swap out the engine for a rebuilt or otherwise good quality replacement.
2: Update the cooling system with all new parts. Hoses, fan, aux fans, water pump, gaskets, coolant expansion tank etc.
3: Switch over the brake pads to "greenstuff". Ceramic pads do not seem to add any braking improvements to my truck.
4: Replace rear wheel hubs, ABS sensors and axle shaft seals.
5: HD front bumper.
6: Wire the rear LED work light.
7: Diagnose any fault codes, fix and clear.
8: Accessories such as shovel and axe mounts for roof rack, maxtracks, tire chains, jerry cans, more decals etc.
9: Final look over of the truck, looking for any leaks or worn components that need to be addressed.
10: State Inspection.
11: Possibly General Grabber tires? So far no issues with my retreads but I always get that "what if they fail" thought in my head.
Money talks. If the season is really good than I will accomplish these goals, if not so good than I will cut out things that I cannot afford.

Hey, I have a quick question. I just busted my coolant expansion tank. Is there anyplace local to get one? I'm even considering the dealer tomorrow if I have to. I need to be back on the road by Thursday. Any help is much appreciated.
First off welcome to the forums. Next understand that this section is where members make threads about their builds (how they built up their vehicles etc), if you need help or have general technical questions then look under the Discovery 2 section of the forum (if that is the vehicle you have) and post your questions there.
As for the coolant expansion tank, I honestly doubt any local parts venders will have these in stock. Ive never had much luck getting parts from local parts stores BUT that dont mean somebody in your area does not carry one. However what I would do if I were you is I would contact Rovers North (EXPANSION TANK COOLANT DISCOVERY II + P38A, RNI554, PCF101410 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts) and see about getting one of their expansion tanks. You will also want to replace the coolant expansion tank cap while your at it (CAP COOLANT RESERVOIR P38A RANGE ROVER & DISCOVERY II, RND344, PCD000070 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts) Ive linked both products above. Note that you can save a couple bucks by getting their "Proline" vs the genuine if it helps you. Depending on where you live, you can request that Rovers North expedite the shipping. You can order the parts offline but I recommend you call them and ask for Zack Griswold and he may be able to hook you up.
Good luck.
Progress has been slow due in part to the holidays and all but its time to post a little update on my D2 build.
Recently I purchased a Gizmo 40 inch LED light bar: Amazon.com: OC Gizmo 40" 240W Watts LED Light Bar ATV Jeep Off Road Truck Boat Tractor Trailer With Wiring Harness: Automotive I chose to mount the light bar on the front of the SD roof rack but the mounting brackets and hardware included with the light bar were completely useless for the application I wanted so I had to buy some special 1" in diameter mounting brackets in order to fit the light bar to the rack cleanly. If you take this route then remember that you want the 1" in diameter clamps: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ight-bar/1746/ next I ordered a spare cruise control switch and used a spare fog light faceplate and mounted it in the speedo dash in place of one of the blanks. Wanted a clean setup for this light bar. The end result is amazing

Finally got some appropriate tires to compliment the G4 wheels. TreadWright Crawler 235/85R16 MT's x 5! I wanted to break away from the norm and opted to go with rugged skinny tires instead of the traditional beefy wide tires that everybody else seems to prefer. I love the thinner look much more and it reminds me of the classic Series Rovers and old military vehicles.

Thank you for the compliments on the lightbar and my tires. It took me a long while to find the right auxiliary lighting setup that I liked. Im very picky. Once I get my HD front bumper I will have to make another decision. Weather to mount a short length lightbar on the bumper or two Warn driving lamps as fitted to the Trek edition D2. As for the retreads, so far no issues whatsoever. Look at the pictures above that I took at the Maine Winter Romp. I was one of the few who did not use chains and I have to say my truck did alright considering. I air-downed the tires numerous times during the event then drive the couple hour drive back home on the highway with no issues. If I do experience any issues I will be sure to post the update on the forums. Cant always let fear of the "what if" hold you back. I waited a long *** time before I decided to try retreads and so far no regrets. Though I wont deny that Im not interested in General Grabber but thats because I saw how they performed for the team of Expedition Overland.
