Vigorously reading up on Sprinters and learning as much as possible before I buy. Seems the first generation T1N's are regarded as the best and most reliable with the 2.7l turbo diesel. Like every other make/model vehicle they have their issues but from what Im seeing the 2.7 is pretty straight forward and relatively easy to work on. The fuel injectors are right on the top of the block and all you have to remove is a plastic cover piece in order to access them. No bulky upper intake manifold bull**** and the glow plugs are easily accessible. Im looking at the mid length 140 wheel base high top. I cant wait to put the rover v8 behind me.

 

Sounds like your mechanic botched the install on your fancy pants engine.
