It's a lot of bolts but not hard to do. Mostly time consuming.

Yep, lots-O-bolts.

But what a true Unicorn Shift found. Especially if the INFO from RANGEROVERS.NET is correct....can that be right only "37" were shipped to the US without a sunroof? Seems a bit crazy.

" A limited run of thirty seven 1993 County SWB models were produced without sunroofs and were sold for $1,500 less than the models with the sunroofs. "

Yep. About a million Phillips head screws. I was really surprised at how easy it was. Kinda scary considering how much weight I've put on the roof of my truck.

Removing the headliner was the worst. I was trying really hard to be gentle with it. I got it out intact but it took some effort.

37??? Wow. What a shame if that's true. So sad. Someone needed something under the dash I guess. They destroyed the dash getting there. So sad. It wasn't a bad truck at all. On the windshield is written "bad head". I can't imagine how many perfectly good trucks have been condemned by that stupid V8 going belly up. Just a few manufacturering changes would have really made a world of difference.

I wish the D1/D2 roof could have been unbolted like a RRC.

It's not even that hard to take care of a Land Rover motor when something does fail.

I'm amazed at how many reasonably competent car guys still think there is something mysteriously foreign under the hood. I hear "aren't those really hard to work on?" All. The. Time. I know shops that won't work on a D1 or D2. Almost forcing people to a dealership or a specialist. The one shop here charges $2000+ for a head gasket job. Hard to justify for most people. You have to love em to want to do the work yourself or pay that much.

+1
and they are by far one of the easiest vehicles I have ever worked on. As if it was designed to be worked on, and there aren't many things you can say that about.
