Default Recycled 98 D1

Well I finally have some progress on my 98 Disco now that I've owned it for a year! I got it back (at last!) from the welder who rebuilt the rear frame and patched all the other bad spots on the frame. He also fabbed up rear inner fender lowers, gas tank brackets, and repaired some large areas in the footwells, firewall, and rear floor. I'm still doing some fiberglass repairs on some other areas, mostly front inner fenders. This is a rusty east coast of Canada truck that has been off the road since 2013! I started it for the first time in a year today (thanks to the Immobilizer hack I found on here!) and other than a lifter tick that went away in a minute, it purred like a kitten with no DTC's. Now it's time to get it back on the road. I still have more rust repairs to do, and it needs full brakes all around, (only the parking brake works) and I still have to put the interior back in, and get the maintenance up to date, fix the sunroof leak, replace the headliner, etc. etc. etc., as you can probably tell, I'm hooked.
I still have a pile more parts to put on, including KYB shocks and galvanized shock towers, stock size Cooper AT3's, calipers, rotors and flex lines, bumps stops, etc. I might add that I'm doing all this in my driveway, as my friend's broken Fiat 124 Spider is still in my garage, lol!
I really have to thank this forum for the immense amount of help it's been already, as well as shout outs to Rover's North, Atlantic British, and Rock Auto for all the bits.
I think I saved another one!
Here's some pics from when I got it, I'll have to take more soon.

Cheers!

Phil

Yes, I fixed the turn signal lens already! I would like to find a right fog light lens, anyone?

Wow, you have managed to preserve the OEM wheels on this car. It looks well-maintained.

Thanks! The P.O. was an 85 yr old English gent who never took it off road. It has 158,000 km (just under 100,000 mi) and has all original paint. It was last plated in 2013 when the frame got too rusty for it to pass inspection and sat in a barn since. Luckily, the ol' fella still started it a few times a year.

Cheers

Phil
