With another 'artic plunge' heading my way, I went to refill my propane tanks as I heat my 5'x10'x 1/2" thick steel table when it gets to this 15 degree crap.....but, this ain't going to cut it......I'll be addressing shortly!





Besides that.....New tool shed is coming along, working out side the box on this one....50mm 'tall' can....along with basic tools, should be able to get some recovery gear in there as well, ie: straps/****** block/d-rings.....learned along time ago recovery on the exterior is the way to roll, why sort thru crap when you can have it in hand quick!



I can offer details on this if someone has interest later, it's hinged & locked so no biggy there....In 'other' vehicles in the past, I was able to incorporate something similar in it's quarter panel with armor, but I'm not seeing this here...

If your referring to the ammo can........I can totally spec it out as I have no interest in supplying....it works 100% as shown. The upper pocket quarter protection doesn't apply to Land Rover.

 

Rear tag not required in KY or do you just remove from normal storage area and insert there while off-road? Tag relocated elsewhere? Crack Habit Builder?

In the state of Kentucky, you can drive with no tag if insured, transporting the vehicle after purchase and or driving to get it registered.

Alrighty.....this is a win-win for me, another couple hour at best little project which gains me some space!


The base of the basket is hinged, this allows the ammo can to flip forward for access, in closed position.....it can't be opened. Hinge welded to basket, bolted into receiving can.



So everything mounted, secured and in place. I used the orig. plate holes and thru bolted to the basket....direct bolt on.



The ammo can is secured with a small toggle latch, small lock keeps it secure......after all, locks only keep honest people......honest.



Protrudes less than the spare, my plan is tools & recovery gear. The can is water tight with excellent seals on the lid.






All and all, while a quick throw together yet long term.....I gained a little more space for traveling.....bolt on, no biggy just some effort. Lighting was handled using motor cycle LED's.....On to the next area!!



Tire carrier needed some rehab and I'm addressing some things there as well.....the whole rear end fills in nicely.....more to come but continuing with the interior next!!!

The 50mm 'tall' box works best in this area, others become to large, bulky or just wrong.......I studied those boxes for days......almost melted my limited attention span......I'm very happy with the results & extra space.
