Unless you can find actual Genuine Rover bushings Poly is a better route these days. The aftermarket rubber quality is lacking.

I'd say your 100% correct!
Smallest track-bar/panhard bar bushing I've ever laid eyes on...

These things could cause a guy to get a DWI while leaving church.......just enough weaving down the road to simulate when they fail......

No...No...Officer, my panhard bushings are bad...........

After having a long talk today I doubt it, he's into it big time and he doesn't need my help other than a few tricks. He's capable and I feel it's in good hands otherwise it wouldn't have happened. I have knee surgery coming up in a few weeks....... I can't do allot about anything. We're both looking for another old Scout that needs rescuing and he brought it up during out conversation. I've had my eye on one for several years that just sits and plows a short driveway in the winter, it's my prime candidate for a knock on his door once the knee is back in shape.

Well that's all good, glad to hear it!
Reaching back to your roots aye?.......Gas, spark, go!
There we're 3 being sold as a group in various stages of done, almost and your getting a **** load of parts in Georgia about 2 years ago, it was a heck of a deal as well! Good luck with that venture!!! I'll be doing the same kind of thing once I figure out what life throws at me next year. Tired of building for others and not myself....

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT KNEE!!! From what I know, you shouldn't be laid up long..

My CJ5 track bar, tie rod conversion is done......machined, bolted up, centered, greased.....test spin in the morning.......I have maybe 2.5 -3 hours into the conversion.......unsure what to expect, I'll update when time allows.....I'll do a quick tow in/tow out in the AM as well.........Lube the rest of the dirty girl then I'm heading south to the BEACH!!!!

Thanks, actually heading to Wilmington, NC and the outer banks.

So........

The CJ5 Tie-rod - Panhard/Track bar conversion is.......FREAK'IN FANTASTIC!!
Should have done this from the start, we'll see how 800 miles treat it tomorrow.
Rear shock bushings found to be 'shot'......(I wouldn't trust a British condom at this point).....the quick fix was about 1" worth of 5/8" galvanized structural washers (thick) to get things cinched up again.......ugh.....
TAA DAAA.......Found my shifter linkage problem, I can again get down to 1st gear........Problem, I found my little lighter from South Africa down in there 'ahead' of the shifter...hidden. It's a small Bic lighter which slides into a cast aluminum sleeve wrapped in leather.....if it wasn't for that I'm sure it would have ruptured and busted.........yeee ha, problem found!!!

What else..........rewelded an exhaust hanger........noticed how much rust I have yet to fix........steering box is now leaking out the back shaft.....tires pressure was down to like 15lbs up front, love thick side walls, aired up to 40 in all 4 corners.....never got to the front brakes......only one tail light doesn't work........HELL, I'M GOOD!!......I'll check in once I get to Santa's Sand Pit!!

Happy Ho Ho!!........(just in case I don't make it!).....

I'm headed back to my roots but it may end up getting a Rover driveline....... and become a coiler too. 80/800 Scouts are my forte'.
