Well winter is finally wrapping up so I figure it's time to get in gear.
I got my steering rods cut and was thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to welding them up when I paused.
Right now I'm exploring a front steer/crossover type setup. Just need a RHD driver side knuckle.
It'd be something like this.

Good luck on getting the rust off. I used phosphoric acid solution on my panels to get rid of the rust, i think it worked out pretty ok. Nice build thread, will be sure to keep watching!

I have a gallon of Ospho(or whatever its called). I'll apply that after pressure washing the snot out of it. Then I'll paint everything with the Rust-Oleum Industrial Oil Based paint.

Haha, I actually am going to leave the steering stock. I welded up my track rod, drag link, and damper bracket the other day.
Yesterday I cut about 1/2" off the second sewer cap on the bandsaw at work and started mocking it up on the front diff.
I should post some pics but my work bench is a disaster right now.
I also secured some 1/2" steel from an old plow blade I plan on making into a pinion guard.

Sooooooo yeah, 2.5 months later......
Both sewer caps are firmly welded in place and that's about it.
My wife has pretty much put her foot down and insisted I finish the basement before I resume work on the Rover. Can't really blame her, been saying I'd do it for years. I've got next week off work for a "use it or lose it" vacation scenario so I'm hoping to knock out a bunch on the basement.
Might be a while before I update this though.

I really wish I were taking the week and working on the Rover, I know I could knock out a ton of the work. But I know to pick my battles.

Well I may not have the time to work on the truck right now, but I do have time to plan ahead and shop.
Bought a 4.6 14CUX ECU High Performance chip. I've decided to put an early GEMS P38 4.6 engine in this truck to really make it scoot.

Also snagged a RRC clock and some cloth Mazda Protégé seats from the junkyard.
