Now I need to figure out wiring the new electronic distributor to the coil and extend the alternator wiring across the engine bay to link up with the RRC alternator.

And for a small victory I installed a new steering wheel. The factory one was a bit to big for my liking so this one is 2 inches smaller. Works out much better for using the flip down armrests for comfortable driving

After getting the wheel on I started on the minor stuff on finishing the engine install, got the heater hoses hooked up, fuel lines, and throttle linkage started before the rain came and chased me indoors.

When it stops it's back to work I go.

very nice truck, you can always do a one wire alt. and one wire distributor which would give you a simple GM self-contained electronic ignition.

The HEI from what I understand requires the manifold being ground down to clear. The alternator I have no idea what would be required. I'd still have to redo the wiring to get to it though.

It's ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The power steering is leaking like a sieve, going to have a new hose made. Oil pressure looks good so all in all I'm a Happy Bunny!

Now to sort out the wiring on the alternator and install the cooling system.

Yes I know I ran it without coolant for 15 seconds bite me
