Worlds longest slowest 110 build thread
@The Deputy It’s a very cool setup I really like it. One stop shop for the wiring then a easy control panel for lights lockers and seat heaters

Question. A few yesrs back, when we messaged about the 110...I believe you said you were going to turn it into an off-road only, crazy sized tire beast. But, after watching some of your recent repairs, attention to detail work and changes...what is the end result now. It seems like this version will be a competent road machine and a plenty capable off road warrior. Unless, I'm just missing something?
@The Deputy It’s geared and set up around 35” tires but with a few minor tweaks it will happily handle 37” tires if I have an itch I need to scratch. It should be more capable off road than I am.
So the more miles I put on a stock RRS and a my modified LR3, I have come to realize how much we trade off on these trucks to go big. In how they drive, rode accelerate and handle the daily grind. I’m hoping for a bit of balance this time. We both the 110 will never be a Cadillac but it doesn’t need to be a buck board wagon either.
Engine will be the 3.9 cammed up with the intake and TBI nothing crazy. The headers are not going to make the cut as I don’t like how they sit in the engine bay. 5 speed and lt230 replacing the old 4 speed lt95 combo unit. Axles are upgraded all around with e-lockers. Front is a 110 axle with a 24 spline set up with hardened axles and 4 piston calipers and vented rotors. Back is a D1 unit with disc brakes as well e-locker etc
Springs are genuine Land Rover HD springs little lift but nothing crazy so no driveline angle issues or vibes at speed. Ride quality seems same as factory. Shocks are a budget friendly monotube that I am giving a go and will let folks know what I think. Polyurethane bushings was a compromise on ride for a bit of handling.
TBI injection for the convenience but using as many factory bits as possible factory RRC in tank pump and filter. Using proper metal fuel line front to rear instead of the plastic crap the factory used. Went with ACES FI for the kit and I couldn’t be happier with their tech support. Got a question call couple minutes later I’m talking to a dude that sounds southern enough to be working on a nascar pit crew that knows the systems inside and out. 100% recommend them awesome folks.;
Interior is getting lots of power points front and rear. Some Harley Davidson speakers 😂 and a Bluetooth head unit in the overhead console. Up front it will get the digital dash from the engine management, aux beam switch pack. Not to mention some custom done up seat covers that will match the trim in the back. Carpet and sound mat lol. Eventually a bit of a build out inside for contained camping. Windows that all work as my sliding ones were well crap…. Mount for my fridge and badlands off road jack inside as well that thing is awesome
out front will be all the lights a boy could want and a warn winch on the ARB bumper. Old school lights converted to led for vision and safety
Long story short I’m not sure who I was trying to chase down the trail but if this truck can’t take me there I don’t need to see what’s there
if it’s all works out I’ll be doing the great divide in it next month driving it there and back
