Advice please: 1997 D90 V8, 68k miles won't crank when hot
1997 Defender (V8) won't crank when it gets hot. Yesterday was warm where I live. Took the truck out for a few short errands (20 miles round trip). On the way back I stopped for gas and then had to let it cool down for an hour before it would crank over. No clicking...just nothing. Once started, it ran fine. Are the starter motors problematic in these or should I look elsewhere for the issue? I'm new to Land Rover.
Thanks in advance!

Check the battery cables and ground cable to frame/body. If it is doing it, reliably when hot, get underneath next time with a test light and see if you have 12 volts at small wire of starter, when ignition swich is turned to crank position (you'll need a helper for this). If you have 12 volts at small wire and good solid connections everywhere else, probably starter.
