Default D90 transfer case noise

I managed to break my rear drive shaft on the way up poison spyder a couple weeks ago. Replacing the DS was no big deal but now there’s a whining noise coming from the transfer case. I'm looking for a good transmission guy in the northern new jersey area... anyone know someone they would recommend ? I know of classic 4x4 in Fairfield CT but that’s 70 miles from me...

If in fact the t/case is on it's way out, don't waste money trying to rebuild your's, find a good guaranteed used one for a lot less money.

Consider draining the case, checking for metal, also pulling the inspection plate to inspect the gears, easy to do.
