Defender first time buying advice
Does anyone have a list of questions they ask as they buy a Defender?
I was looking at this thinking it looks nice but I have no idea if it could just be a gold painted turd, if you will.
So, do you have a check list of questions and features you look out for when buying second hand? Rust spots in bad places, number of miles driven, or what to look for in the vehicle's service book?

If you are in the USA it has to be 25 years old to be legally imported. So that one is a no go from the start.
Bulkhead rust, rear crossmember and frame rust are the biggest killers.
Do not buy sight unseen from overseas there are to many people putting frosting on turds trying to tell you its a cupcake.
Fly over and inspect it yourself, or buy one that is already in the states from a reputable vendor.

OverRover, sweet, I will give the community a look/ask!
ArmyRover, I am in the UK so Land Rovers can be sold to anyone with a driver's license. Though I understand that driving manual is a fantastic vehicle theft deterrent in the US! (Manual is the norm in UK)
