Default Finding some New parts for an Old Defender

Hello,
I dont own a Defender. But I will in the future. ha. I live in the US so finding an old Defender and the parts is a little hard.

I have been looking at importing a 1984-85 defender 90 into the US but to tell you the truth I dont really know how easy it will be to find parts for one of these Rovers.

They are simple trucks though. Not much to them? I prefer to do the work to the truck to my self.

Who knows of some good places to find parts for everything? Thanks

Hey Coldwater, where are you from? You can check out "craigslook" and just type in land rover defender with no city and it'll bring up all D's on all craigslists.

Last time I checked Defender bits are going to be a bit rare so don't forget to check out the UK. I've been able to get my smaller parts comparatively cheap from aftermarket sources for much less than here.

I think you need a large order to deal with Britpart (Aftermarket Rover vendor) directly, but if you can find a place that stocks other items you can put together one order.

I've used lrseries.com before, they show you the genuine vs. aftermarket prices side by side so you can get genuine if the quality vs price ratio looks reasonable. They also have stock of military rover bits and can FedEx these things to you quickly.

Just remember to:
convert pounds to dollars
add shipping (watch out for heavy items)
and duty/taxes... (I think this one hurts the most)
