Fuel Sending Unit Help
Hi Everyone,
I am hoping you can help me.
1977 Land Rover Santana Series Diesal III 88.
I need to replace the Fuel Sending Unit. It appears the vehicle was fitted with a 109' rear tank fuel sending unit, so the recommended replacement I ordered from Rovers North does not work (SENDER KIT FUEL GAUGE NEG EARTH SERIES, RNC751, 90560612 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts) . My fuel tank doesn't have the second draw tube for overflow- so I guess they used the 109' fuel sending unit which has the tube attached.
How would you handle this?
A. Drill a hole in the fuel tank and add a second draw tube for the spill back.
B. Use another 109' rear fuel tank spec sending unit. Problem is, this doesn't have the holes on the ring, so I'd have to drill holes and retrofit it.
Photos attached.
Thank you and if there is any confusion, please let me know. Im not sure I did a good job explaining this.
