Default i need your help!!! wheel prob

im replacing the brakes on my 2000 land rover discovery, but i cant even get thewheels off hahaha. i havent had thewheels off before and when i took the lugs off it looks like theres an split washers inside where the stud goes. is there a special tool to get the wheels off the studs or are they just stuck to the center of the rotor and just need to be hammered off? they are really stuck on there!!! any advise on getting these babies off???
