My radiator fan wouldn't turn on and I had an overheat in my 1997 Defender 90 2.0MPI Petrol.... and that overheat caused a crack in a small coolant hose which leaked quite a bit under pressure.
I've disconnected the fan temp sensor and then it'll turn on, so I assume I need a new sensor which is on the way soon.
But now I need to fix the hose as well. It's a small coolant hose that I just can't seem to identify in any diagrams or replacements as it's more difficult to find stuff on the 2.0MPI. Is there a replacement hose for this? or at least a kit I can pull from? Or maybe a universal hose I can cut to fit?
I've attached pictures of which hose it is, a small connector hose going to the top rail area. Drivers side of motor. It's not one of the large radiator hoses, it's the short piece, smaller/narrow hose.
Any help you can provide in a part number or replacement, or maybe something universal would be great. Really appreciate it!
Looks like regular heater hose, probably 5/8. Any parts store would have this.
Thank you so much! That's what I was hoping for, was just going to order a few different general hoses and cut to fit if needed, was just hoping it wasn't some funky width specific to LR.
FYI - $16 5/8 hose from Advanced Auto with just cutting length a tad worked great. And unplugging the fan thermostat allows the fan to run so temp gauge stayed at half or a little less for quite some time during test drive. No longer leaking. Now just waiting on fan thermostat and hopefully that totally solves my overheating issues.
