Default coolant hose needing replacement?

I have a 2001 Discovery. Im having an issue with the coolant hose that runs along the top of the radiator cover and into the top radiator spot. In the very center it has what appears to be a pressurized hole to allow coolant to escape if needed. I'm loosing a lot of coolant from this hole. I took it to a local shop to see if i could find the replacement hose and had no luck. I looked on Atlantic British for the hose, but none of them show a hose with that hole in it. Is that hole necessary? Can i just replace it with a hose of equal size with out the hole in it? If not, does anyone no the name of this hose for me to find it? Im adding about half a liter a week of coolant in the hose, but it is a daily driver for me ranging anywhere from 100-200 miles a day. I would really like to get it replaced. Thanks in advance for your help.

You have the old style hose that was superceded years ago to the newer style because of the high failure rate of that plug. Don't attempt to fix or repair that plug, buy a complete new hose set along with a t/stat and replace it all before it fails.
