Rear Brakes won't release, suggestions?
88 defender 110, rear end is locked up.
This is what I have done so far.
Put her on jack stands, got the wheels off. on the left side I removed the screw to remove the hub, back off the cam shoe tensioner, took the BFH and tapped the drum to get it to release. got the drum off and cleaned things up. This is where the fun begins, the bolt for the forward cam tensioner on the left side spun freely, did not rotate the cam. Aft worked fine. Got things back together on the left side. Did pretty much the same on the right side but it was the back cam tensioner Bolt that spun with out moving the cam. Got the right side back together. the wheels turned free with a little drag on the drums.
Went to the cab and applied the brakes several time and that locked the brakes up again. I cannot get the wheels to turn at all.
Does this thing have a hydraulic lock on the brake system somewhere that I don't know about?
One more question, how do you get the brakes shoes off and back on with the spring set up? I done a lot of brake jobs on american cars and trucks. this is new to me. Thanks
