Default Rebuilding a 3.9L

Hey guys, it's a '94 NAS D90 POE (#1500) with a 3.9L V8 that I've had since 2007. Since it has 130,000 miles, a blown head gasket, and just about every seal in the motor is leaking, I am planning on rebuilding it, or rather having it rebuilt. I know I have other, arguably better, choices in motor sizes at this point, but since it is a POE and (apparently) only about 65 were imported into the US, I'd like to keep it in the original configuration. Plus, I already put a new gearbox and transfer case in it and I'd like to keep this thing for a while.

So...I guess I'm asking for suggestions on things I should be aware of, or a certain type of gasket or bolt, or process I should use that are specific to this engine. Thanks!
Pete
