Default Still no further on

Afternoon all,
I've still got the on going saga of my ignition problems...…. I've tried what appears to be the old ignition back on and seems to be worse than the newer ignition that was on the Landrover when I got it !
I can live with having to hold the position 2 for 8 seconds (for glow plugs to warm up) to start it, but its the fact that I can't control the interior light and dash clocks back light that's driving me to despair !!.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

What do you mean...control interior light and clock back light? And what interior light, like a dome light are you talking about. My 1990 110 has no dome light (that l've seen anyway).

Hi Brian,
I've sorted it now, but yes your right it has a dome style interior light, the problem was...…. when I got the car neither the interior light or the dash clocks would not illuminate !!, I decided early on to dismantle the dash to see or trace any wires that could possibly not be connected, which resulted in me finding the complete switch for the int light/dash clocks, I put it back together thinking i'd had a massive result !!, but only resulting in the int light/dash been on permanently ARRRGGHH !!!!. Out came the complete dash (again !) and after a few weeks of tracing wires and just looking at wires and probably being "wire blind" I stumbled upon a green wire that had been connected in to a red connector, as soon as I disconnected it BINGO !!
Sorry if that was a bit long winded, but I had to get it off my chest !! lol
Just need to find out why she's smoking a lot after a head gasket replacement

Glad you got it sorted out. Opened up the dash/cluster/radio area on mine...and it was like a horror movie. Never have l seen so many non-factory crimp connectors and wire splices. Gently put the dash back in and will sort it out later.

Installing some interior lights is on my list though.

Brian.

Haha, fortunately there are no "scotch clips" in sight in the 90, my 2a on the other hand had than my local motorist discount centre so I cut all the wiring out so that I can start again from scratch once I rebuild her

The reason there are no scotch-clip sytle connectors on your 90...is because...one of the previous owners of mine...bought all that were available in the nation.
