Seems like TC could be ruled out from the video showing that gears stop when brakes applied (do both ebrake and regular). Could use a broom handle and from the side of the car while parked, wheels chocked, whine on, poke against tranny and your ear, will let you hear better what the case sounds like over other car noise. MOve stick around to localize the sound.

You stated you did not change the filter. Did you remove the pan to change the fluid, or did you just drain it through the drain plug? It sounds like the sump is not full and the pump may be sucking air. Are you sure the fluid is full? Add a pint and see if it changes.

If you had the pan off and took the filter out and cleaned it you likely lost one of the o rings, or it didn't go back in right. I would be more inclined to say it is cavitating (sucking air) from not being full.

If the noise is there in neutral, does it go away if brakes (both foot and parking) are applied? From the video, that would seem to rule out the transfer case. If you are going to do another change of the tranny fluid, Higgs' idea of an extra pint has merit.

It takes 2 min to check the fluid level in the t-case, until you check it we can assume nothing.

Transfer Case is full.

It makes the noise in neutral and applying the brakes make no change.

As a precaution I am also changing the transfer case fluid tomorrow along with the transmission filter.

I think you have ruled out the transfer case, but fluid change is part of service, change early and often....

SInce it was dealer serviced and apparently you bought it from that same dealership, take it to them and ask for a free analysis. And also get a printout from them showing all previous mainbt for your records.

Was it doing it when you got it?

What else have you done or not done to it?
