Found the zero Mass sensor readings are due to the reader, using an older version of same reader type the MAF gives a reading, however once the engine starts the miss/ splutter after about 8 miles driving, the reading will flash to zero.
will attached some readings with speed I was doing
The MAF on the truck is a Walker, which I have read mixed reviews on, I have ordered another better quality. Older discoveries are rare in this part of the world so don't know of other to switch parts on to rule out some problems.
I have read some on smoke tests, does this sound like a vacuum issue? Vacumm lines good and clear and with the engine cold, I cannot blow back in to the engine with the oil fill cap on

Also when the reader was showing both 02 sensors bank 1 and 2 where both going up and down pretty good, just with small delays when acceleration was applied
Tried to figure out some more with the discovery today. The engine is fine cold, once warm runs good if not moving and will accelerate, driving splutter/ miss, sometimes starts at speed, other times slow, but getting much worse.
MAF reads 0.11 g/s at idle and over 1.0 when driving. What should readings be?
The short term fuel when cold says 0.0? when engine warm stays at 25, long term around 7.0. Not sure what the readings should be?
The new MAF I ordered arrived, but wrong one sent, so doesn't help rule that out.
When engine running I can remove the oil filler cap and the engine stays running smooth, idle drops a bit. With the cap on, I put my hand over the air intake and accelerated the engine, and it sucks the air box towards engine, so no major air leaks I'm thinking, and cannot hear it sucking air anywhere.
The piece I do not understand is it now gives no codes at all.
After I cleared the p1179 last week, it has not returned. It gave MAF code twice last week, but not now.
Running bad now as soon as I try to drive it with engine warm, cold drives fine.
Not sure what to do with it now, maybe try find a shop who knows landrover, and see if its worth the cost.
Any ideas? Can someone let me know what the short/ long term fuel should be and the MAF readings?
thanks
I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest the sputtering is not related to air/fuel mix. I'd like to see the speed reading on the OBD as you are rolling down the highway. If it goes wacky like mine did, it is the VSS.
ahh yes the old VSS - it causes the LR to act like it is stalling from lack of fuel at speed - then it will go again - experienced that on cross country trip on cruise control - like the crank position sensor it also gets heat fitgue -
Just checked the VSS against the speed on the scan tool and all matched good. Also tried disconnecting VSS and the splutter/ cough still happens.
Only common theme is engine has to be at normal temp for it to mess around and when it messes around the/ at speed the Short term fuel trim goes to 25% on both banks, which I understand is way too high? Long term stays at/ around 7.
I think that means the injectors ar staying open too long???? Still throwing no codes.
