A 0300 code is not your cats. What have you done over the last year or so as far as a tune up, how old are your plugs and wires, do you run high octane gas, have you decarboned your engine?

I Just boughted this car and I think they havent done a tune up or change plugs, wires or decarbon the engine. How much do you think they are going to charge for all these and how long is going to take for this work. Im taking the car to www.britishcarservice.net here en Los Angeles CA.
Thanks for the quick response, I apreciate.

Why don't you do the work your self, it is easy, cheap and it will give you an opprotunityt to get better acquainted with your truck.
By the way, they will probably charge you around $600 plus and you can do it for around $200 in parts.
Be glad to walk you thru it.
By the way, your truck is way past do for a major service, no time like the present to find out what makes your truck tick.

Hi there! I own a 97 Discovery with 173,000 miles. I've owned her for 2 years now and never had a tune up. Any work that I have needed done has been minor and my brother has been able to do it. He checked her out and said he isn't going to attempt to do the tune up, because it's very different than what he is use to seeing. I know that I need to get this tune up done. I live in Salt Lake, Utah....Can anyone refer a service center other than Land Rover, or any pointers I can pass along to my brother?
