Default 1997 Discovery XD Old Man Emu Shocks with Air Reservor

My 1997 Land Rover Discovery XD comes with Old Man Emu shocks around. The rear shock has an extra cylinder attached to the shock. It seems like an air reservor with a nipple that I can attach an air compressor to it. I never used it before as I didn't know how it works.

I checked the air pressure of the air reservor the other day it showed 0psi. I used an air compressor pumped some air in to about 20psi reading on the gauge but didn't see anything changing. So I stopped as I didn't want to mistakely damage anything.

Has anyone had this similar setup on your vehicle? are those air reservors for raising or lowering the vehicle? what is the proper pressure they should hold?

Thanks!

Your nitrogen oil charged shocks are now air oil charged. You should not do that.

Sorry, you meant I should charge it with Nitrogen instead of air?

what's the pressure it should be holding at?
