Hello I am new to the forum!
Also a mechanical noob, I have a 1998 Discovery 1 4.0 automatic. When I went to start it this morning the key was hard to turn and it sounded like it struggled to crank over on the first crank then fired right up. I drove it around the parking lot once and parked it. When I put it in park it made a whining noise and when I shift back into drive the noise went away. The headlights would come on but I could not put the windows down or get the ac to turn on. What could cause this? I was thinking the alternator was on its way out because dash lights and headlights were pulsing. Any help is much appreciated!
