My 1998 Disco I has started to make a loud clunking noise when making a left or right sharp turn. It does this in reverse as well. It feels like something is hanging and then releases. It is difficult to determine which side it is coming from. Has anyone experienced this?

 

Wheel bearings or front CV joints, and they are good sized. See attached. Sometimes called a popping noise.
